Suzanne Eaton

Biology of Morphogenesis

Biography

Max Plank Istitute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) and Biotechnology Center TU Dresden (BIOTEC), Dresden Germany

The lab of Suzanne Eaton aims at understanding how tissue growth is coupled to patterning during development. Their goal is to understand how morphogens regulate patterns of cellular metabolic and mechanical properties, and how tissue size and shape emerges from the collective interactions of these constituent cells. We approach the problem with cell biological, biochemical, biophysical, and quantitative imaging tools, and work with physicists to develop multiscale models that explore the logic of development.
